HEAL THE HABITAT
A tiny dying bubble of air, Plunging and draining large pipes and hoses,
The fading green of algae, Dumping tons and gallons into
Astounded by the changing sheen, Precious water bodies, with silent wails,
Does its warranty now care? All in all, reduced to disposes of.
The little water ecosystem, Aquatic flora and fauna,
A habitat for millions; Dying whales, sharks, and tuna.
Numerous stories and presentations, On their last survival mode,
In our curricula and school systems. All but our selfish motives and moves.
From a simple aquarium to vast oceans, Let’s come together with one accord,
Housing countless discovered and undiscovered; Let’s hold hands and trudge along;
From an amoeba to gigantic insects, Heal the Habitat, with one loud voice,
All herald a healing call, a long list of should be’s. Save the Habitat, break all barriers and cords.
Big brass shields bang call, A dream come true, now at hand,
For me, for you and for all; With renewed government policies and NGOs
Dying genera and species, policing;
Priceless organisms and not just freebies. On an all level updation and upgradation,
With a HEALthier HABITAT, now we stand.
Heal the Habitat, tis the final call,
A move, a drive, an endeavour, a programme; Sharon Maanya Dias
