HEART OF EARTH
We had taken and stolen
Her magnificent heart of gold,
Keeping her recovery at bay
Gone is her beauty with another day
But now she screams, screams so loud,
For She is the Earth, She will redound
Remember, if She suffers and dies, so will we
As She is home to you and me
Listen to the cry of the Earth
Listen! It’s deafeningly quiet, its malignant worth
It’s the sound of our doom,
If we don’t let our greed die and the flora bloom
It’s high time to untie our blindfolds
To let our sympathy take a rise,
Before it is excessively late
To revolutionize the world and our fate
Hard it may seem,
To use renewable energy
But do it for the future, do it for earth’s love,
Because it’d be worth it, though not wholly enough.
Next, try to curb relentless poaching
Saving biodiversity is much more encouraging
Promoting sustainable agriculture is a saviour
Bestowing clean water to all is ideal humanoid
behaviour.
It is not too late for us to try,
We can still wipe tears off the Earth and the sky.
For this is not the definitive end,
There is still the heart of the Earth that we can mend.
