MONTFORT SCHOOL 50 GOLDEN JUBILEE GLORIOUS YEARS
Dear All,
As I sat down to think and write about the golden journey of Montfort
School, Delhi, I went into a flashback 50 years ago. Pictures and
memories started with visualization of initial structure with saturated
facilities to the present high tech infrastructure, starting with a
dedicated staff of 15 odd teachers to a highly educated dedicated staff
of over 130 and starting with a handful of students to a well-disciplined
3000 plus students. If I recall the initial years of bonding between all the
stakeholders as a family, the same bonding continues in the extended family with full zeal.
The day school started its journey, from then onwards it started competing with well-established schools
whether it is in academics, sports, co-curricular or extracurricular activities. The schools and the students
who used to think that Montfort School is no competitor for us soon realized how to overcome and compete
with the rising Sun. Within a few years of its inception, Montfort School became a force to reckon with.
Montfort School children won the hearts of each and everyone wherever they had gone to participate with
their disciplined and friendly approach. The winning streak started with the first batch of students which
continues till date and our students and teachers are always on the lookout for competitions organized by
schools and universities. In universities, during the initial years teachers used to ask “from which school
you are?”. Our children used to answer “From Montfort School ‘’. “Where is it?” University teachers used to
ask. But over the years, seeing the performance of our children in university, their dedicated and disciplined
approach forced the university teachers to change their opinion. Now for every new admission from Montfort
School, with a sparkling face, they say “Oh! You are from Montfort School. Welcome ‘’.
As our school motto is “For the God and the Country”. The school has tried to inculcate moral values,
spirituality, and the love for the country in each student. Our school alumni have served and are serving the
country in different capacities and different fields. In the magazine, you will find references to the same.
If you move around the campus, you will find that along with technology up-gradation, the campus is
surrounded by natural beauty – flowers, greenery, vegetation, birds. Full care has been taken regarding water
conservation and the environment. You will feel the calmness and comfort of nature.
Experiences are unbounded, whatever field I look upon our children have excelled in all the fields during the
journey of 50 years. From having an all India topper in academics (along with the ranks of 2nd and 4th positions
by students in initial years), a topmost team in basketball over the years, winning 25 lakh reward in KBC,
winning medals in art, dramatics, sports athletics, and other activities conducted by Education Department.
Winning positions and prizes at National level/International level competitions in Science, Commerce, and
Sports are some of the highlights.
I am writing all this being a part of this journey. I have mentioned only a few achievements out of endless
achievements which you will come to know, as you go through the magazine. I feel proud being a partner in
this glorious 50 years journey and moving along with my well-supportive knowledgeable friendly staff, 24x7
available fully dedicated Brothers of St. Gabriel, students, and parents.
Congratulations to each one associated with completing a milestone in the journey of Montfort School, Delhi.
Special congratulations and thanks to all the Brothers St. Gabriel and especially to those who have been
directly associated with the school and elevated the school to such glorious heights. I would like to convey my
thanks and congrats to the Brothers through our principal Bro. Thampy Alex, who is working day and night
for the school, to take it to greater heights.
I conclude by praying to God to always show us the right path so that Montfort School keeps on serving the
society and country as a whole for years to come.
Best Wishes
