Virtual Fit India Week 2020
“ To keep the body in good health is a duty ….. otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind

Montfort School Delhi celebrated the Virtual Fit India Week in the Third week of December, 2020,
to support the nation wide “Fit India Movement” aimed to encourage people to inculcate physical
activities and sports in their everyday lives and daily routine. This is an effort to alter “Passive
Screen Time” to “Active Field Time” through several exciting activities. The events in Virtual
Fitness Week saw wide participation from primary, middle and senior wing students along with
parents and staff members of school.
Day 1 (14.12.2020)
(i) Free Hand Exercise
(ii) Fun and Fitness
Our students from primary, middle and senior wings performed different exercises like aerobics,
rope skipping, dance, calisthenics, stretching and bending exercises, etc.
Day 2 (15.12.2020)
(i) Yoga - On the virtual platform teachers and students performed different asanas like Tadasana,
Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, etc. under the guidance of the Sports Faculty.
(ii) Open letter to Youth of the Nation on “Power of Fitness”
Day 3 (16.12.2020)
(i) Brain Game to improve problem solving capacity i.e. Crossword Game.
(ii) Poster Making Competition on the theme “Hum Fit Toh India Fit” or “New India Fit India”
(iii) Prepare Advertisement on “Hum Fit Toh India Fit” or “Emotional & Physical well-being are
interconnected”.
The students of middle and senior wing were asked to do these activities where they had to
prepare an advertisement and poster on the topic ‘ Hum Fit to India Fit’ and ‘ Emotional and
Physical well being are interrelated’. The students participated with a lot of enthusiasm and
came up with very interesting and beautiful ideas. This activity not just enhanced their knowledge
about fitness but also brought out their creative side.
Day 4 (17.12.2020)
(i) Lecture on Diet & Nutrition
(ii) Essay/Poem Writing Competition on the theme “Fitness beats pandemics”.
(iii) Podcast/Movie making on the suggested theme “Mental Health is not a destination but a
journey”.
