PANDEMIC TO ‘ENDEMIC’

the pandemic. Since then, my life has changed a lot.
My heart goes to people who are stuck overseas and
unable to see their loved ones. These times have made
people realize the significance of human connection
and socialisation. The fact that Covid-19 has led to
the loss of hundreds of millions of lives saddens me
profoundly. Perhaps we all perceived that the future
might look like this, given the continuous warnings
against climate change and environmental threats,
and our inability to improve the ever-worsening
                                                              situation.
We live in an arbitrary world with no way out. The
saddest part about it is that we have to reside in this
artificial hellhole that we have created for ourselves.
There is no happiness and ray of hope in the world
that could make it better. This is the world that we are
bequeathing to our future generations. I am grateful
to our ancestors for not exploiting our resources for
their own greed. On closing my eyes, I am filled
Pictures of the Earth have been reformed on the with gratitude for being able to feel the fresh air, to
internet to make it look like an apocalypse. Instead feel mountain water skim my shoulders when I take

humans look like aliens covered with oxygen pipes heavens. I close my eyes because life is so much
and hazmat suits. Students are carrying oxygen better there. Life used to be great back then and I

Animals are being obliterated for human exigencies, have stripped them of hope for a better tomorrow.
making it difficult for the animal race to survive. It is
a gruelling situation for doctors to deliver a baby as
it demands numerous resources. Artificial plants are gaurika Bhatia
being installed at homes as the natural ones have 12-B
gone extinct. There is a paucity of dairy products
due to the scarcity of cows and buffaloes. This leads
to undernourished children. Humans have lost a key
source of high-quality protein and nutrients. Fields are
piled up with more plastic than they are planted with
          grass.
Human interaction has been limited to reduce the
spread of the virus and everyone is admonished to
maintain social distancing. At this point, technology
has become pivotal for the functioning of the world.
Using technology, parents can contact their children.
My heart is full of gratitude when I see a grandmother
smiling just by looking at her grandchildren through
a mobile screen, which reminds me of the time when
I used to call my grandmother after online school as
I wasn’t able to meet her due to the pandemic. It has
been three years since I last saw my friends because
everyone got busy with their own lives. I wasn’t even
able to have a senior year in high school owing to
